     The Notre Dame Irish football team is a team of American football that represent the university of Notre dame in Notre Dame, Indiana.

The history of this team goes back to 19 century. The  first season of this team was  in 1887. Numerous changes have been made on the part of team coaches since the team has been formed. Very brilliant coaches had served this team throughout history. The coaches such as Dan Devine, Gerry Faust, Lou Holtz, and Bob Davie have been part of this team in the past. The current coach of the Notre Dame team is Marcus Freeman. In the past, the conference of this team was Atlantic Coast but now this team is independent. The current uniform of the team consists of two colors blue and gold. 

     As many great coaches have served this team very brilliant players have also been in this team. Almost seven players from this team have won the Heisman Trophy. These players include Angelo Bertelli (1943), Johnny Lujack (1947), Leon Hart (1949) - He also ranked #3 in the ranking of All Time famous players of the Notre Dame team, Johnny Lattner (1953), Paul Hornung (1956), John Huarte (1964), and Tim Brown (1987). In 2017, Notre Dame Irish football team won the Joe Moore Award. Many Notre Dame players are playing in the NFL team. Now, The Detriot Lions have six former players of Notre Dame. Although there were many famous players on this team such as Alan Page, Leon Hart, and Tim Brown but Paul Hornung is the most famous player of the Notre Dame Irish team in the whole history of this team.

        By looking at the past few matches of the Notre Dame team, it seems like the team is in very good form. From the last 10 matches, the team has won 7 matches and lost only 3. The last match was on 12 November against the Navy. In this match, Notre Dame showed an appreciable performance and won the match over the Navy with 3 points. 

      The team has yet to play two more matches. The first match is on Sunday 20 November 2022. The opponent team in this match is Boston College. The second match is on Saturday 26 November 2022. And the opponent team in this match is USC.
