The New England Patriots team is an American football team located in Greater Boston. The team belongs to National Football League (NFL) and they play as a member of the American Football Conference. The patriots are currently playing in East Division. The patriots' team was first established in 1959 and played their first season in 1960 (62 years ago). In the beginning, the team was widely known as Boston Patriots for 10 years from 1960 to 1970. Then in 1971, the name of the team was changed to New England Patriots and they are still called by this name. The other nicknames of the team are The Pats, The Evil Empire, The Boston, and The Boogeyman.

Then for five years, the team played in Fenway Park from 1963 to 1968, and for a year team played in Alumni Stadium in 1969. In 1970, the New England Patriots played in Harvard Stadium then the home stadium of the team was changed and Foxboro Stadium became the stadium for 30 years from 1971 to 2001. From 2002 to now the team is playing in Gillette Stadium.
