College Football Playoff 2022-23 Schedule

College Football Playoff is the highest-level college football tournament in the united states. College Football Playoff is a tournament that determined a national champion for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. 

It is in operation since 2014. In the past, it was known by different championships Bowl Championship Series (1998-2013), Bowl Alliance (1995-1997), Bowl Coalition (1992-1994), and National Polls (1869-1991).

         In the College Football Playoff, only four teams play for the trophy (the CPF has decided to extend the number of teams from 4 to 12 in 2024). There are 2 matches in the semifinals, in each match, 2 teams compete and the winners from both matches qualify for the finals. In the finals, the winning team gets the trophy of National Championship Trophy. 

 The television partner of the CFP (College Football Playoff) is ESPN since 2014. The Alabama Crimson Tide Football team has appeared 7 times in the College Football Playoff (it is also the team that has the most appearances in the College Football Playoff)and they have won 9 matches and are the winner of the 3 National Championship Trophies. While Southeastern Conference (sec) which is consist of 14 teams, has appeared 10 times in the tournament and has won 14 and they are also the winner of 5 National championship trophies. The current winner of the championship is the team called as Georgia Bulldogs football team.

 2022-23 College Football Playoff Schedule

 As we know that 4 teams play the Playoff matches. Michigan, TCU, Georgia, and Ohio State are the teams of the College Football Playoff (2022-23). The first match is going to play between Michigan and TCU on Saturday, 31 December 2022 at 4 p.m. ET. The second match will be between Georgia and Ohio State(the team which has won 8 national championships) on the same day (Saturday 31 December 2022) at 8 p.m. ET. 

 From these 4 teams, each team will qualify for their match and will play in the finals. The final match ( the match for the National Championship trophy of the College Football Playoff) will be held on Monday, 9 January 2023 at 7:30 p.m. 

         The question comes to our mind How does the college football playoff ranking system work? The 13-member committee makes the Top 25 rankings every week in the mid of every season. From there, the top 4 teams can play in the semi-finals of the College Football playoff.
